Pirates’ night in the Cetina canyon

Encounter with centuries-old tradition of Omiš pirates. Boat ride from Omiš to Kaštil Slanica and fighting pirates on River Cetina. Pirate games and dances with plentiful dinner – food once enjoyed by Omiš pirates.

The centuries-old pirate tradition has made Omiš a distinctive tourist jewel of the heart of Dalmatia, located between Split and Makarska Riviera. Retracing the eventful history of the local pirates in the 12th, 13th and 14th centuries takes us back to the princely Kačić family, the then lords of Omiš who collected tribute from ships for allowing them to navigate this part of the Adriatic. The Cetina and its islet in front of the present-day Kaštil Slanica restaurant were the main pirate base.

You can taste the pirate tradition that still lives in Omiš. Join the fight against pirates on the Cetina and become their captive, for you will never forget the treatment that follows: a pirate party and dinner in Kaštil Slanica restaurant, with “specialties from the sea, river and hinterland” once enjoyed by the famous Omiš pirates.

The excursion takes around 3.5 hours. The program includes:

  • A 30-minute boat ride from Omiš to Kaštil Slanica
  • Pirate program (attack on the river, pirates’ games, dance)
  • Live music: Dalmatian Duo
  • Plentiful pirate dinner with “specialties from the sea, river and hinterland”
  • Wine and refreshments (local red and white wines, mineral water, non-alcoholic beverages for children).
