Dalmatian klapa multipart singing course

A course in Dalmatian klapa multipart singing (UNESCO); learning of its origins and traditions and enjoying traditional Dalmatian cuisine. Visits to Omiš, Split and Šibenik (UNESCO); excursion to Krka National Park.

They say “a klapa multipart singing group is a circle with Omiš at its center”. This makes Omiš the best place to enter the world of Dalmatian klapa, included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage.

You will learn how multipart singing came into being, how friends would meet in a tavern and sing a capella as Dalmatian klape do. With time, this style of singing moved from taverns to streets and today it knows no bounds.

However, klapa is not just about singing; it is also about getting together, friendship, a sense of belonging to Dalmatia. It is a way of life we will be happy to introduce you with. We will help you discover the secrets of Omiš – a proud town located on a spot where the sea, river and mountains meet – and take you to the cities of Split and Šibenik (both on the UNESCO list) and to Krka National Park. 

An 8-day package can be arranged. Generally, the following activities are included:

Day 1: Arrival

Day 2: Thematic tour of Omiš; Dalmatian klapa exhibition; visit to a tavern; multipart singing course

Day 3: Excursion to Split; lunch

Day 4: Multipart singing course

Day 5: Excursion to Šibenik and Krka National Park; lunch

Day 6: Multipart singing course; visit to a klapa rehearsal

Day 7: Traditional Dalmatian dinner with performance of local klapa

Day 8: Departure
